Introduction

Sif is one of the greatest female warriors of Asgard, a wonderful black-haired maiden. She is Heimdall’s sister and the eternal lover of Thor. Their story reminds of those soap series, where they get separated a lot, but in the end “true love” finds the way and they end up with each other. Although, Sif doesn’t seem interesting in the Thor itself, but for the power of his hammer. She falls in love with characters that can wield it, so that should be a hint of what she is after. She is a gold digger, Thor, open your eyes! Jokes aside, she follows him in a lot of encounters and they really go through thick and thin together.

She appears in a few movies that involve Thor, played by the charismatic Jaimie Alexander.

In Marvel Super War Lady Sif is depicted as a true warrior of almost unmatched hand to hand prowess and unprecedented mobility in combat. This makes her a powerful tool in the hands of any player willing to master this shieldmaiden.

PROS

  • Excellent mobility, she can move quickly through the obstacles, which makes her suitable for the jungle. Also, her skills allow her to move quickly around the battlefield during fights, which makes her unpredictable and hard to hit

  • Great for one on one encounters

  • Good throughout the round. From the round’s start she is an unstoppable force and her might doesn’t diminish later on in the round

CONS

  • You can learn how to play Sif relatively easy, but it takes some time to master her combos depending on the situation. You are not supposed to use one combo at every encounter, and it takes some time to unleash her true potential

  • Mana management will be an issue, as you keep spamming skills it will drain you quickly. It is imperative to have a blue buff upon you at all times

Lady Sif early game (lvl 8)

Her natural passive skill is Bellicosity. It enhances your basic attacks whenever you hit an enemy hero with ability, and after 4 hits you get attack speed boost that’s significantly boosting your one on one potential. We will explain in detail how to properly utilize her passive in the rows below.

Your first skill of choice must be Blades of Asgard. This is your bread and butter when it comes to damage dealing and poking enemies. It has two charges and a wide variety of ways you can use the blades in the combination with other skills. She throws the sword in the selected direction and it lands on the ground where you’ve hit the enemy, or precisely right behind him. You can then decide whether you want to blink behind the enemy using your other skill Sword Pursuit or use the Warrior’s Sword and pull your blade back towards you. Now, when you pull the blades towards you and they pass through the enemy they will stun him for one second. This opens up a variety of ways you can engage your opponents and it gives you unpredictability that most heroes can dream of. In our humble opinion, surprise and unpredictability are crucial when it comes to PVP games, and it can turn an unskilled player into a difficult foe.

Start with the red buff and slowly move through the rest of the jungle to a blue one. When you clear everything you will be level 4. This is when you should start roaming through the lanes and engage foes. Hitting a foe with the skill is more important than speed, remember this when you play Sif, as there is a huge difference whether you’ve hit with 4 skills and gained the attack speed from Bellicosity or not. So time your skills correctly, don’t just mash them like boiled potatoes. The ways of engaging depend on a lot of factors, and there is no combo you should use in every encounter, but there are some hints on how to start a fight. You are always using Blades to hit the foe, but what should you do next?

The first option is used when you are ahead of the opponent (level advantage, health advantage, ally number advantage). After the blade is thrown use Sword pursuit and surge behind the foe. Hit them with a basic attack and use the other blade charge immediately and follow it with Warrior’s Sword, but make sure you are positioned behind the foe. That way he can only try to escape towards you. Use your basic attacks to annihilate him.

The second option would be in case you are testing the opponent and you are not sure how the battle will go. Use a blade and then use the Warrior’s Sword to hit him for some extra damage and to stun him. Then you can use the Blades of Asgard again, blink towards him and start mashing your basic attack as you will have the speed bonus. In any case, don’t try to engage tanks early on, as you will be too weak to do anything.

Your ultimate, Asgardian Swordstorm is perfect to make sure no foe escapes your grasp. So use it after any of the above-mentioned combos and foes won’t be able to escape you at all.

Lady Sif mid-late game

You will have a better offensive arsenal at this point in the game, which makes it all the better. Most foes will fall from your combos in a matter of seconds, but you should still avoid engaging tanks and focus on the squishy enemies. When the team fight starts you don’t want to be in the focus, and you should attack the backline as soon as their focus is on someone else from your team. Use the blade to hit any of the backline heroes, and wait for a second or two. Then use the Blades of Asgard to come in close, and follow it by your ultimate. You will invoke havoc in their ranks as soon as they see you closing in on them. The immediate reaction for most players is to stay away, and they will take damage from the ultimate even if you haven’t targeted them as they will try to run away from it. Any foe that tries to escape the triangle receives significant damage. Use your Blades again to hit the desired foe and hit a few times with your basic attacks. In case they start running away you should target them with Warrior’s Sword but pull yourself in the direction they are fleeing. Or use it the opposite way in case you got focused and need to run off quickly.

Lady Sif is truly a test for your brain – fingers motoric capabilities and your reaction time. She is a backline slayer in the right hands, but everything needs to be executed perfectly and it really looks majestic when you manage to do everything properly.
